Chauncey Billups signs with the Clippers and his 14.2 million salary remains for 20011-2012. $2 million of Billups’ $14.2 million salary will be paid by the Clippers. The Knicks will pay the $12.2 million by exercising the new NBA amnesty clause which is part of the NBA’s new CBA. By doing so, the Knicks remove Billups’ full salary from their salary cap. Billups joins All-Stars Chris Paul and Blake Griffin; along with another solid point guard Mo Williams. Billups has been used as a shooting guard in the past and will likely see minutes at that position. Billups will begin practicing with the Clippers today.
