Artist Adam Brandejs has collaborated in the past with Audi, Coke, and the Toronto Zoo. In his spare time, though, Brandejs isn’t afraid to get weird, which is how I would describe this Nike silhouette he made completely out of a latex casting material made to resemble human flesh. The piece is supposed to suggest that corporations like Nike, adidas, et al, are taking advantage of folks in factories overseas. Adam Brandejs’s Nike creation has been making the rounds on the gallery scene since 2004. What do you think of it? Gross? Poignant? Both?
